Natural Tibetan Turquoise
Turquoise is an uplifting gemstone, with a positively soothing energy that both balances and strengthens the aura and helps us to align the energy of our chakras, giving us a sense of stability, strength, confidence and clarity.
It is said that on a physical level Turquoise strengthens our organs, enhances the body’s immunity and is beneficial for the eyes.
Wearing Turquoise on the body can assist us in keeping positive and uplifting thoughts in our mind, as Turquoise is pleasantly supportive of our own positive intentions.
In this way Turquoise also enhances clear communication and heightens our awareness of our intuition and can therefore be a strongly protective stone and a great ally during travel, business enterprises or simply in wanting to attract positive energy and invoke ‘Good Luck’.
Turquoise’ profound colour can range from bright clear blue hues to colours that are near green. The differences in colour largely depend on where it is found and the amounts of iron present in the ground.
Larger quantities of Iron make for a greener Turquoise, like the Turquoise from Tibet whereas much of the Turquoise that is found in Arizona and New Mexico, tends to be a vivid blue.
This wonderful gemstones got its name from the French word ‘Turquois’ meaning ‘Turkish’ as initially the Turquoise that the French knew came from Persia to France via Turkey.
Because Turquoise is becoming scarce and can be very soft and brittle, Turquoise is nowadays often stabilised or even reconstituted.
One could say that this is not natural but still this allows us to actually wear Turquoise even though it may be blended or stabilised with synthetics.
Please be aware that the lovely gemstone White Howlite can easily be dyed a vivid blue and is by some sadly sold as Turquoise.
White Howlite has its own wonderful properties but dying it does not make it into Turquoise. It will remain (White) Howlite that has been dyed with a vivid blue colour.
