✧ Agate & Amethyst ✧ Geode - Brazil
Stone Origin: Brazil
Even though Agates do come in many different varieties, all Agates appear to be telling us an individual ‘Agate story’.
Perhaps this is why children are naturally drawn to Agates, as they seem to be more receptive to stories than many adults.
But that wouldn’t be the only reason, Agates are also great balancers of energy and many Agates are gentle grounding stones.
Some Agates though, when placed near the head during sleep do have the ability to enhance deep and colourful dreams.
From a more scientific perspective Agates are a form of Chalcedony. Chalcedony is composed of an intergrowth between Quartz and Moganite. Quartz and Moganite are similar yet they have a different crystal structure.
Because of this it may not be surprising that Agates are said to balance the Feminine and the Masculine energies within a person, or the Yin and Yang energies.
Agates can be very soothing and calming. For instance Moss Agate does work soothing on skin disorders like Eczema, Blue Lace Agate can aid in calming a busy mind and Botswana Agate calms the nervous system.
Amethyst is a readily available gemstone that may not only have a regal appearance, it’s vibrations can be equally powerful and Amethyst is worthy to be treated with respect.
Amethyst emanates an energy that allows us to gain overview and insights in the diversities of situations. It enhances our intuitive thinking and helps us to establish a sense of calm in our mind.
Amethyst may do this with a sense of intensity and I have come across several people that found it hard to be around Amethyst for too long as they said it overwhelmed their sensitive nature.
Yet some other sensitive people found Amethyst extremely helpful and they gained overview and a sense of stability, as their minds were trying to cope with commotions generated by the stormy oceans of their emotional hearts.
In my work as a crystal healer and crystal merchant I have heard some interesting stories about this fascinating gemstone. A man once told me that an Amethyst point, which I held and slowly moved above his body along the meridians felt to him as to emanate a bundle of light energy, almost like a laser.
Someone else said that she would be all out of sorts if she wore Amethyst on the body for any length of time.
Other people again say that placing some Amethyst underneath their head pillow helps them to sleep at night.
So if you were looking for an easy answer to which crystal is right for you, you may not be impressed with my writing. However if you deepen your breath and take a moment to let your mind soar and find peace within, than you have gained some understanding from Amethyst already.
Amethyst can be a tremendous ally in spiritual work, it will protect you while it enhances your intuitive senses.
But Amethyst does not only work on the mind and the intuitive self and I often use points of Amethyst to help someone’s energy reconnect to the earth’ energies.
I have also found that those with longtime spinal issues benefit from a crystal lay out with Amethyst points lined up on their spine. In this case I place the Amethyst points directly on the vertebras and let intuition guide me into which direction the crystals need to point.
In Artma Spiritual Gallery we have a 195cm tall Amethyst geode. This geode happens to be also very slim (I call her Philomena) and regularly people will stand in front of her for sometime, often commenting on how much energy and healing they receive from her powerful crystals.
It is said that Amethyst is useful in the transformation of bad habits, like smoking or other addictions. In other cases people with the tendency to easily flare up in anger will also benefit from wearing a piece of Amethyst on them.
